Senior Services operates nutrition sites throughout the Fourth Planning District. They are located in the towns of Christiansburg, Blacksburg, Pulaski, Pearisburg, Floyd and the City of Radford. Senior Services also provide transportation for the Virginia Tech Adult Day Center.
The goals of this program are to get people who are socially inactive or unable to prepare nutritious meals, out of their home and active in a group setting. Educational land informational programs are provided at each site. Each site has a site coordinator who plans activities, assist clients with special needs and assists with the hot meals served at the nutrition site. The site coordinators are caring and professional people who work very hard to see that each client's quality of life is enhanced and improved.
Each potential client is screened by calling the Agency on Aging. Transportation is provided for the clients if they have none or cannot drive. The Agency on Aging can be contacted at the numbers at the top of this page.
